PADI Discover Scuba Diving from the shore
What to expect:
- This shore-based dive offers a gentle and confidence-building first scuba experience.
- Easy Entry from the Beach in Los Cristianos: No need to worry about boat entries – your scuba adventure begins with a comfortable walk-in entry into the water directly from the beach.
- Detailed Briefing by Your PADI Instructor: You’ll start with a comprehensive briefing from your certified PADI Instructor. This will include a clear introduction to the scuba equipment and essential safety procedures, ensuring you feel prepared and confident.
- Master Basic Skills in Shallow Water: While still standing in the shallow water, you’ll practice a few fundamental scuba diving skills under the watchful eye of your instructor. This allows you to get comfortable with breathing underwater and using the equipment in a controlled environment.
- Experience the Underwater World: Once you feel comfortable, you’ll gently descend beneath the surface to practice those same basic skills again underwater. This gradual approach builds confidence and allows you to adapt to the new sensation.
- Guided Underwater Tour of the Breakwater Reef: Your PADI Instructor will then escort you on a magical underwater tour around the breakwater in Los Cristianos. This artificial reef has become a thriving habitat, teeming with a wide variety of local marine species. Get ready to witness the colourful and fascinating underwater life of Tenerife!

Fit to Dive?
Before participating in this activity please review this medical questionnaire. If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions then you must consult with a doctor prior to diving, and seek written confirmation that you are fit to dive.
What comes next?
Once you have completed the PADI Discover Scuba Dive we will register you on PADI’s database so they know what you have achieved. This dive will automatically credit you with some experience towards the PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Diver certification, which will apply for 12 months.
