PADI Open Water Course
Julia – April ’18
Julia came to us from Canada in April 2018 to complete the practical elements of her PADI Open Water Course.
Having already completed the Knowledge Development at home through PADI eLearning before her holiday, she arrived well prepared and able to enjoy devoting her free time exclusively to diving: not studying!
PADI Open Water in Tenerife
On day 1 she learned the basic diver skills in the swimming pool before heading out to open water on days 2 and 3. This video shows a few scenes from her two final qualifying dives.
Unluckily, the weather was not on her side, and there was a strong surge to contend with in open water. Julia was completely unfazed by any of that though, and took to diving naturally!
The first dive was to a local shipwreck – the Condesito. The wreck of an old cargo ship is a curious and exciting find during one of your first underwater explorations. As if the wreck does not provide atmosphere, the area surrounding it is incredibly rich in fish life and it is common to find critters like nudibranchs and seahorses here.
Naturally, the second was to Palm Mar Wall so she could expereince the thrill of coming face to face with turtles in the wild! In the last few moments of the video, there is no mistaking the impression this made on her!
Well done Julia!
